There are numerous benefits to living your life with intention and in a more deliberate fashion. The Law of Attraction’s principles teaches us that we can be, do, or have anything we want. Essentially we can create whatever we want, if only we would change our thinking and our way of viewing the world that we live in. We are all connected and are participants in the same play, and the world is our stage. I believe that there is one Universal Mind. There are no accidents. It is my firm belief that we are all interconnected and we have much to share and learn from each other. Each event that we encounter is a life lesson. They are signs and signals for us to adhere to. What if I told you that if you live you very best life, that inadvertently, you are contributing to the overall betterment of our human society? Let me put it another way with specific examples. Think back 100 years ago and what our society was like at that time compared to our current state. It would be hard for this present generation to fathom living without many of the conveniences that are available to us today. That period, in comparison to the present, may seem very primitive to us. But what was it that allowed us to advance to where we are now? Simply put it was new ideas. It was radical thinking. It was those pioneers that exist in every generation of free-thinking souls that first had a thought. And through their attention and energy brought that thought into form. I’m sure not so long ago it would’ve been quite difficult for the masses to envision the technological advances that are a norm in today’s society. Everything starts as a vision or a thought in our minds. I’m sure many thought that flying would have been an impossible accomplishment. The reason is because before it was achieved, no one had done it. That simple. But once it had been done, it became accepted. People’s levels of consciousness changed and a new belief was created. This opens the doorway for increased growth. We live in a dynamic, ever changing Universe. When we change our core beliefs it not only impacts our lives, it simultaneously contributes to changing the consciousness of the collective masses. So therefore, if we live in a society that is dominated by negativity, it affects the masses in that manner. The overarching theme of our society will be one of negativity. A few years ago, I was introduced to some very interesting information called the “Hundredth Monkey Theory”. I found it very fascinating and believe that it is worth sharing here. So here goes.
The Hundredth Monkey Theory
A story about social change.
By Ken Keyes Jr.
The Japanese monkey, Macaca Fuscata, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30 years.
In 1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand. The monkey liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant.
An 18-month-old female named Imo found she could solve the problem by washing the potatoes in a nearby stream. She taught this trick to her mother. Her playmates also learned this new way and they taught their mothers too.
This cultural innovation was gradually picked up by various monkeys before the eyes of the scientists. Between 1952 and 1958 all the young monkeys learned to wash the sandy sweet potatoes to make them more palatable. Only the adults who imitated their children learned this social improvement. Other adults kept eating the dirty sweet potatoes.
Then something startling took place. In the autumn of 1958, a certain number of Koshima monkeys were washing sweet potatoes — the exact number is not known. Let us suppose that when the sun rose one morning there were 99 monkeys on Koshima Island who had learned to wash their sweet potatoes. Let’s further suppose that later that morning, the hundredth monkey learned to wash potatoes.
THEN IT HAPPENED!
By that evening almost everyone in the tribe was washing sweet potatoes before eating them. The added energy of this hundredth monkey somehow created an ideological breakthrough!
But notice: A most surprising thing observed by these scientists was that the habit of washing sweet potatoes then jumped over the sea…Colonies of monkeys on other islands and the mainland troop of monkeys at Takasakiyama began washing their sweet potatoes.
Thus, when a certain critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind.
Although the exact number may vary, this Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon means that when only a limited number of people know of a new way, it may remain the conscious property of these people.
But there is a point at which if only one more person tunes-in to a new awareness, a field is strengthened so that this awareness is picked up by almost everyone!
From the book “The Hundredth Monkey” by Ken Keyes, Jr.
Since I first read that story, I never discount anything as being impossible. I realize that in the bigger scheme of things, we all matter. Each and every one of us. We are all, in essence, that hundredth monkey. We absolutely never know how our individual actions or thoughts will impact the masses. When we change our thought process and get rid of those old negative tapes; when we believe in something that we have been conditioned to believe is not possible; when we choose to live our lives as more conscious and aware beings, what an impact that will be to our world. The possibilities are simply amazing. Living in a world full of enlightened beings. Oh yeah, that rocks.

In the western world many people have already become aware. We just need to reach a critical mass to be able to collectively move forward. At present, many governments and people of authority do not allow this ‘movement’. Therefore it is vital to spread the word, educate, enlighten – starting with self.

Lisa, what a wonderful way of explaining that we all have an impact, and are a part of interconnected consciousness. We all should be reminding ourselves that we could be the 100th monkey at any moment in time, igniting the spark for a global mind shift. I know I will. Your words will stay with me for a long time. Thank you for sharing this!

the 100th monkey theory is so powerful. when we are enlightened, the world consciousness expands! awesome! we simply need a few more people a day to realize the unity of our consciousness and we will have a mass movement that will change our world forever! Its happening I can feel it.
