Synchronicity, Living in the Flow

flowCoincidences seem to happen to us all of the time. We have all had the experience of being in a scenario where we are just going about our normal daily lives and then suddenly we are struck by an eerie feeling that this particular scene has happened to us before. Most of us know this as a phenomenon called déjà vu. What about when you are sitting around and you think of someone and then out of the blue, you get an unexpected phone call or run into this person. Or it could be that you have a seemingly random thought about something and you turn on the television and at that moment, you see a commercial or television show talking about exactly what you were just thinking. Ever have those days when everything just goes your way? You hit every green light, you get the close parking space, the item you were going to the store to get is sitting on display and deeply discounted. I love when I have days like this. Things like this happen all of the time, but often we do not stop to think of the significance of these little events or our role in creating them. How wonderful it would be to live a life of constant ease where everything we want just happens effortlessly. These experiences are the Universe’s way of communicating with us and guiding us through life. This is called synchronicity. It’s a sign that we are on the right path with our thinking and our emotions.

Think about how greatly you could increase your quality of life if you could learn to deliberately make these little coincidences happen. Well you can, we all can. This is our natural state of being. When we live our lives in the natural flow of connectedness, we experience more synchronicity and our lives become like magic. We are one with life and we live each moment in true harmony. We never have to struggle to make things happen, they just naturally do. I believe that there are no mistakes in life. Everything we experience is perfectly ordered. As I have written before in previous posts, I believe there is one Universal Mind, which we all share. We can all live a life of magic but we have to be tuned in, tapped in and turned on. We have to be willing to follow the signs and the signals that are being sent our way each moment. How do you recognize synchronicity? The Universe is alive with energy and vibrations. The signs are everywhere. Trusting or intuition and our “gut feelings” is the first step. When we honor our inner voice, we will always be led down the path that is best for us. The Universe supports us and is always aligning itself to create what it is we are asking for. Through the practice of quieting our minds through meditation, trusting our inner guidance system, releasing all negativity from our minds, we greatly increase our chances of living in the flow.

I am naturally a very high-strung, high energy person. In the past and still to some degree today, I would always worry about the how. I had to do, do, do, constantly to get the results I wanted in life. Or so I thought. While I was always caught up in the physical action of doing one thing to create a certain outcome, I was working against myself and the natural flow of life. I would work myself up into a frenzy trying to control every aspect of everything. Trying to control the outcome. I would drive myself batty. One of the most significant lessons that I’ve learned in life is to let go and trust the process of life. These days I don’t get so wrapped around the axle anymore. I learned to let go and trust that whatever happens will be for my highest good and the highest good of those around me. I am filled with happiness and gratitude living this way. Abraham-Hicks says, “the better it gets, the better it gets”. I love this statement because it is indeed very true. Before I go I want to leave you with something that I read from Abraham-Hicks. Think of life as a flowing stream. We all know logically that when you put a boat on the water, that we row downstream. That boat follows the natural direction of the stream, which is downstream. Consider that you are the boat on that stream. Logically, it doesn’t make sense to row the boat upstream because it is difficult and against the natural order. Always remember that life is not supposed to be difficult, contrary to what we have been trained to believe. A few months ago I wrote a post, Overcoming Negative Conditions, where I talked about a very negative person I was encountering in my work place. Instead of matching fire with fire, I simply released the situation, detached from it and wrote about it in a positive way in my journal. Each day I continued to bless this person with love and wished the best for them. I didn’t allow their negative actions to attach themselves to me. Within one month, this individual moved on to another project in the company. In this case the situation worked out for the highest good of both of us. I choose not to allow negative experiences in my life everyday. I want us all to recognize that everything in life is a choice. When we choose to stay connected, when we choose to feel good and be happy regardless of our circumstances, life has no choice but to give us more happiness. This is how we live in the flow. So each day as we navigate through this beautiful world of ours, and as we experience different situations, always ask yourselves, “am I flowing downstream?” Let being in the flow be your goal. If it doesn’t feel good and you have to struggle then you’re not in flow. Shift your energy and let life unfold with ease. Let go and let it flow and watch as the synchronicity happens and your life becomes magical.

Lisa, I also love the Abraham-Hicks analogy with the boat rowing downstream! You described the process very well here. Synchronicity is how the Universe tells us that we are in alignment, as a way of communicating with us. We we turn our attention to going with the flow, life becomes so much more enjoyable. :-)
