What is it that you believe that separates the good from the great? What’s the difference between an average athlete and a world class Olympian, or your average working class person and someone with great wealth? The answer is there is no one single factor. But I will venture to say that one of the most prominent is desire and belief in the possibility to achieve. How often have you come across someone really successful in life and thought, “eh, there’s really nothing special about them”? Admittedly, I have done this a few times, until I learned about personal power and being a powerful creator. What separates the good from the great is one’s ability to have a desire and hold a picture of that desire in their minds until it becomes a reality. As a society, we have been conditioned to believe that hard work equals success. I believe there is nothing further from the truth. Not to say that having good work ethics is not important, it is. But there are other factors that play a larger role in achieving our goals and dreams.
One of those key factors is “belief”. The truth is, it is hard for us to imagine something that we have not experienced before. Therefore, if you aspire to be the CEO of a large corporation, it is much more difficult for you to achieve if you have never had the experience. To further illustrate my point I will use an example from a story that I saw in a video called “What the Bleep Do We Know”. As the story goes, “When the tall European ships first approached the early Native Americans, it was such an ‘impossible’ vision in their reality that their highly filtered perceptions couldn’t register what was happening, and they literally failed to ‘see’ the ships.” Eventually the ships came into view because a Shaman looked out into the sea and imagined what he thought he was looking for. Once the ships materialized into his mind, they also materialized into his vision. I found this story very profound and thought provoking. I was intrigued by the phenomenon and the same time, I found it very plausible. This is referred to as perceptual blindness.
Before anything comes into physical form, it must first be an idea conceived in someone’s mind. Everything that we look around at in our world today started as an idea or a thought. Possibilities are only limited to our thinking. Thoughts become things and become what we think about. Through creative thinking and visualization, the impossible has become possible and ideas once scoffed at have now become widely accepted realities. What can you create? If the mind can create space travel, skyscrapers, mass transit and the Internet, just to name a few things, then certainly we can create the things that we want in life. The power is in our minds and the possibilities are endless.
Visualization is a very powerful tool and is a critical step in utilizing the Law of Attraction to your benefit. When you have set your goal on what it is that you are trying to attract into your life, it is crucial to integrate visualization techniques in order to help those goals along. Visualizing is intended to evoke a certain feeling and emotion that puts us in alignment with our desires. The way that we feel is always our point of attraction.
If you are wanting to attract a loving fulfilling relationship, then you must start to visualize in your mind what that would feel like to you. The first step in the visualization process is to get clear and quiet your mind and then let your imagination go to work. You might imagine your intended mate’s physical characteristics or the two of you engaged in a specific activity, such as a romantic dinner or a nice walk on the beach. The goal of such an exercise is to mentally put yourself in that place using creative thinking and the power of your imagination. In doing so, you align yourself spiritually with your desire and increase your attracting power. This technique can literally be applied to absolutely anything you want. There are no limitations on visualization exercises. You can create many scenarios of your own. Remember, the goal is to evoke the emotions within yourself as if the situation has already happened and you’re just remembering something pleasurable from a previous experience. Anyone can do it. It’s a very simple exercise that has the power to transform your life. Visualization techniques are taught to and utilized in many professional fields, from training athletes to corporation trying to boost productivity. Visual imagery is a very powerful tool that can be capitalized upon by anyone. And best of all, it’s free. All you need is a little free time and some creative thinking.
If you want a new house, job, relationship, more money, deeper spirituality, more peace, love, balance, visualize it. To learn more visualization techniques, I highly recommend the book “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain. It has many practical ideas that will help you in the visualization process that you can put into practice immediately.

That is why companies with visionary people at the helm move forward, while others lag behind. On a larger scale the same is true (or would be true) for countries, but most politicians are known for their limited thinking.

There is much of value in the ability to “see” yourself doing something to bring it about. Many champion athletes routinely close their eyes, and visualize, step by step, the sport they must perform. The more detailed, the better. This is a proven technique for upping performance in the sports world. It makes sense, then, that this would be true for many other things in life.
Excellent post.

Hi Karen and Duni. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Visualization is a very powerful tool as I mentioned in my post. Thus why it’s used by large corporations and as a part of training top athletes.

“Visualizing is intended to evoke a certain feeling and emotion that puts us in alignment with our desires. The way that we feel is always our point of attraction.”
Lisa, you made clear a very crucial point in making visualization work. It’s about evoking feelings from the mental imagery. The feelings are the attraction point, the vibration. This is so important to understand and it makes the difference between using visualization as a powerful tool, or just day dreaming.
Wonderful post!

It began as a thought, and it was simply spoken, and it became. I have experienced this process of visualization/this secret that you share. Olde skool religious folks pertain to it as “claiming it”.
Has it truly worked for you, Lisa?? Tell me about your personal experience(s).

Hi miss lotus
I agree visualizing is very powerful But this is not enough to manifest what you want. many people just think by visualizing they will get and be will get what they day dream about. For example if i visualize about having that girl in england and put no energy or plan to get there I will end up in Afghanistan forever. So if i don’t find a way to get sneak aboard that ship (my action) my manifestation will never occur.
for example like above if you have no action to amplify your manifestation you will end up just day dreaming. the reason it works for people like athletes. is because the are puting in a lot of energy in there efforts to pursue their goals, they practice daily towards it, they apply mass action to achieve their rewards.
Love your site going to bookmmark it now lol. very pretty theme

I had a period there where I was on a roll. I truly believed everything was going to be great and it was. Then for some reason, I started to go back to what if and negative thoughts again and my visualisation started its downward spiral. Its hard to constantly think positively all of the time. I hope I can retain my positive flow in 2010. Thankyou, I really enjoyed your post.

Visualization places yourself gently into the reality you want to create for yourself.
See yourself, feel yourself and believe yourself to be living, breathing, and being the person you want to be.
And then be that person now.
Me and my wife want a new home.
So on our vision board we have a picture of the one we want.
In my minds eye I’ve walked through that house a hundred times.
I’ve relaxed by the fireplace.
Thrown dinner parties.
And rolled around and played with my kids in the living room.
Take your life to the next level and like Lisa said, use the power of visualization to take you there.

Creative visualization is a mental technique that uses the imagination to make dreams come true. Used in the right way, creative visualization can improve our life and attract success and prosperity. It is a power that can alter our environment and circumstances, cause events to happen, and attract money, possessions, work, people and love into our life. Creative visualization uses the power of the mind, and is the power behind every success.

I also believe that visualization can help heal the body. It’s interesting that if you think it and believe it, you can make almost anything in your life happen.

Like the way your wrote the introduction. I have too, few times, are successful people was just meant to be success or is there any reason they achieve success? Most people will answer it’s hard work. However, everyone hard works and it’s not the person who works harder is the richest. So what made some are incredibly success while others are just an average? You wrote well written post answering that question. It’s the power of visualization and belief. The Law of Attraction is true and it determines our fate based on our own belief.

I think the human mind it has a lot of power inside. The visualization concept is not new but the technology is still not capable to explain the mystery behind the visualization.
